EDOSA FAKELAKI is a non-profit, digital democratic platform created to tackle corruption in Greece by harnessing the collective energy of its citizens. You can report on the nature, number, pattern, types, location, frequency and values of actual corrupt acts on this website. Your reports will, perhaps for the first time, provide an authentic and representative image of the amount of bribes and the most corrupt services across our country.
By reducing this complex social problem that plagues Greece into valuable, comprehensible and available data we can identify the gaps, trends and magnitude of this activity and use it to argue for increased investigation, accountability, tightening of law enforcement and the improvement of public services that every tax paying citizen has a right to. The transparency generated from our collective confessions will increase the risk to transgressors and will prove to be a fundamental step towards the reformation and improvement of this impaired system.
We invite you to share with us anonymously if you paid, resisted, reported or even accepted a bribe. This dialogue will allow us to learn from each other, give us confidence in understanding how to deal with a situation that makes us feel powerless and even tap into the recipients’ reasoning for participating in such exchanges. We do not ask for your name or contact details, so feel free and safe to report on the formats provided.
Pressure for change in a democracy can only come from the people and technology has given us the appropriate tools for the first time in history to have an increased participatory role in the achievement of our needs and demands. Join us in our effort, a site created by the people, for the people.
